Roddey E. Mims photographic collection, 1976-1982.

The collection consists of photographs taken by Roddey E. Mims from 1976-1982. Mims' photographs document the Washington (D.C.) political scene for the most part, but he also traveled with presidents and other politicians. Mims concentrated on personalities rather than surroundings, so many senators, representatives, ambassadors, and cabinet members are pictured. Congressional meetings, Senate hearings, and White House receptions are prominently covered. Of particular interest are photographs of John Connally's 1976 presidential campaign and the White House during the Ford, Carter, and Reagan administrations.
